Google Photos is introducing several new AI-powered features, headlined by a Redact tool that allows users to blur or pixelate sensitive information like number plates and other identifying details in their photos. This privacy-focused addition reflects the company's commitment to giving users greater control over their image content before sharing.

The Redact feature integrates into an upgraded Markup function with new fonts and adjustable thickness controls for pens and highlighters, rolling out globally to all Android users. The Wardrobe feature, which creates catalogues of clothing and jewellery from library images, is expanding to Android and iOS users in the US, India and Brazil. Google is also enhancing integration with Gemini Spark for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US, enabling image search and editing via text prompts, whilst introducing vintage-inspired Moods filters for Android and 15 new Remix templates across select regions to create red carpet and photo booth images.
