feeds.bbci.co.uk ·

The Department for Education has approved a three-year plan to change how children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities are supported in Doncaster. The council says the aim is to provide better help earlier and closer to home, as demand for SEND support rises across England.

The plan focuses on identifying needs sooner, strengthening support in mainstream schools, increasing specialist places and joining services up so families can find and access help more easily. It was developed with input from families, young people, parent and carer groups, schools and other professionals; the council is also encouraging families to sign up for updates and ways to take part.
