GTA 6 fans think they found an Easter egg in GTA Online, and all you have to do is zoom, crop, and rotate an abstract painting

Fans of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI believe Rockstar Games has hidden a subtle nod to the sequel's map inside an abstract painting recently added to GTA Online. The theory, which began on Reddit, has spread quickly given the intense scrutiny fans are placing on any potential clue ahead of the game's release, though it remains unconfirmed and disputed by some who see nothing more than coincidental shapes.

The painting, a simple green polygon, was reportedly added as part of the Kortz Heist update last month. One Reddit user inverted the image to highlight a resemblance to Leonida, GTA VI's setting, while another claimed that zooming in, cropping, rotating the image roughly 200 degrees and mirroring it produces a shape closely matching the leaked GTA VI map, including an area resembling the Leonida Keys. Sceptics counter that the shape simply looks like a blurred, inverted outline of Scotland. Rockstar has released two GTA VI trailers so far, with the game due for console release on 19 November 2026 and PC players facing a longer wait.

  • Fans spot possible GTA VI map hint in a GTA Online painting
  • Theory requires zooming, cropping and rotating the artwork
  • Not all fans agree it resembles the leaked Leonida map
  • GTA VI is due out on consoles on 19 November 2026
