‘Harry Potter’ Star Jessie Cave Says It Was ‘Embarrassing’ to Join OnlyFans to Pay the Bills but ‘It Has Saved Me’: Lavender Brown ‘Was a Small Part 20 Years Ago’

Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown in the "Harry Potter" film series, has spoken candidly about launching an OnlyFans account to help pay off debt, describing the decision as "embarrassing" but ultimately life-changing. In an interview on the UK talk show "This Morning", the actor said people wrongly assume she is wealthy because of the franchise, when in reality her role was relatively minor and 20 years in the past, leaving her needing other income to support her family.

Cave started the OnlyFans account in May 2025, offering content built around hair fetishes rather than sexual material, aiming to fund household repairs and clear debt. She said the earnings have allowed her to keep working as a "struggling artist" on low-paying projects such as one-woman puppet shows, and hopes to reduce the stigma around alternative income sources for artists. The decision led a "Harry Potter" fan convention to bar her from attending over OnlyFans' association with adult content, a move she called "baffling" given that many actors who attend such events have appeared in sex scenes or nude scenes in other work.
