Hearts2Hearts’ ‘ICONIC HEART’ Records Highest First-Week Sales Among 5th-Gen K-Pop Girl Group Japanese Debuts
Hearts2Hearts, an eight-member K-pop girl group, has achieved the highest first-week sales among Japanese debut singles by 5th-generation K-pop girl groups, with their track "ICONIC HEART" selling 65,176 copies. The single debuted at No. 2 on Billboard Japan's weekly Top Singles Sales chart and also reached No. 2 on the Hot 100, while topping the radio airplay metric, marking a strong commercial and critical start for the group's Japanese debut.
The group, comprising JIWOO, CARMEN, YUHA, STELLA, JUUN, A-NA, IAN and YE-ON, debuted in South Korea in February 2025 and won nine rookie awards, the most of any K-pop act debuting that year. Their first-week Japanese sales figure surpassed comparable debut releases of 54,187 and 5,764 copies from other 5th-generation girl groups, a result attributed to extensive promotional activity in Japan beforehand, including performances at SMTOWN LIVE, TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION appearances, and recognition such as being named on NME's 2026 emerging artists list.

Hearts2Hearts are a South Korean girl group made up of eight members: JIWOO, CARMEN, YUHA, STELLA, JUUN, A-NA, IAN and YE-ON. They debuted in South Korea in February 2025 and quickly built a reputation, picking up nine rookie awards, more than any other K-pop act that debuted the same year. The group belongs to what's often called the "5th generation" of K-pop, a term used to describe the newest wave of acts following on from earlier, more established groups.
Japan is one of the biggest music markets in Asia, and a successful debut there is seen as an important milestone for any K-pop act looking to build an international following. Billboard Japan tracks singles sales and airplay through its own charts, which are widely used as a benchmark for how well a release is performing in that market. Ahead of their Japanese single launch, Hearts2Hearts had already been building visibility in the country through live performances and event appearances, as well as some international media recognition.
