The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a new video and photograph to mark Prince George's 13th birthday, showing him becoming a teenager on 22 July 2026. The footage, filmed during the family's Easter holiday in Cornwall, captures George climbing rocks barefoot, playing with a family dog, taking a boat ride and waving at the camera in sunglasses he later wore at Wimbledon, marking a notable moment as William and Kate continue to gradually introduce their eldest son to public life.

The 18-second clip was shared with a message thanking well-wishers, while a separate portrait, taken by photographer Matt Porteous at Kensington Palace, showed George in a suit following last month's Trooping the Colour. In September, George will become a boarder at Eton College, where fees exceed £65,000 a year, having completed his time at Lambrook prep school in Berkshire. It will be his first term without either of his siblings, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, since 2019, though he is expected to keep taking on a small but growing number of official royal engagements, having most recently appeared publicly at Wimbledon.
