Hideo Kojima Officially Returns to ‘Cyberpunk’

Hideo Kojima will cameo in *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2*, returning as Hideyoshi Oshima, the Japanese braindance director he played in *Cyberpunk 2077*. The appearance links the upcoming anime to the game and gives fans a detail to look out for when the series arrives.

The announcement included a first, limited glimpse of Oshima, but did not say which episodes feature him. *Edgerunners 2* is a standalone follow-up with new characters, set again in Night City; its plot details have not been revealed. The first series, released in 2022, received strong reviews, including a 100% critics’ score and a 95% audience score, and the sequel is due on Netflix on 20 October 2026.
