Jury shown footage before Kon Hsu Sein’s alleged fatal machete attack

Daily Mail ·

CCTV footage was shown to a jury in the Supreme Court of Victoria during the prosecution’s opening case against four people accused of murdering 18-year-old Kon Hsu Sein in December 2024. The case concerns an alleged attack arising from tensions between two groups in Melbourne’s west; all four accused have pleaded not guilty.

The court heard that Sein left home with two friends shortly after 7pm and was cornered in a driveway less than 20 minutes later. Prosecutors say three of the accused carried machetes and that Sein was fatally stabbed after his friends escaped. He died at the scene at 7.45pm; the prosecution also told the jury that one accused had an eye injury and another an arm injury. The defence case has yet to be presented.
