Horror as rifle-wielding gunman unleashes hell on Idaho In-N-Out, opening fire from drive-thru as police swarm scene

A gunman opened fire with a rifle at a newly opened In-N-Out drive-thru in Twin Falls, Idaho, killing at least two people and injuring several others before turning the weapon on himself. The attack, which began at around 3pm local time on Saturday, sent bystanders fleeing in panic and prompted a large police response, with the shooter's identity and motive still unconfirmed as investigators continue their inquiry.

Witnesses described the gunman, believed to be a young white male armed with a camouflaged AR-style rifle, firing seemingly at random after stepping out of a white sedan, including shots into a nearby Tesla. A bystander armed with a handgun, reportedly a retired paramedic, returned fire and then helped a wounded In-N-Out employee to safety before paramedics arrived; police later clarified that the gunman died by suicide rather than being shot by this second man. Jerome Police Chief Duane Rubink confirmed the self-inflicted death, while Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said officers were working to establish the suspect's identity and motive, and officials warned the number of injured could rise.
