Amazon has expanded voice and personality customisation for Alexa+ and Prime members, moving beyond the assistant's standard voice options and its "Whisper Mode" feature. Eligible users can now choose from eight different voice types, depending on region, as well as five distinct personality styles, allowing for a more tailored interaction experience without affecting Alexa's underlying accuracy or capabilities.

The five personality styles are Brief, Chill, Sweet, Sassy and Original, each altering tone rather than function; Sassy carries an "adults only" warning due to its playful, occasionally cheeky responses. Users can switch voices or personalities by voice command or via the Alexa app, though settings must be changed individually on each device. Older celebrity voice options, such as Samuel L. Jackson and Shaquille O'Neal, are no longer available, while child-friendly animal voices remain accessible to Amazon Kids+ subscribers with devices set to English.
