Man charged over wife’s killing after alleged burglary report at Norfolk home
A 45-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife, Hannah Cain, a GP who reportedly treated members of the Royal Family. Prosecutors said she was found unconscious at the couple’s home in Dersingham, near the Sandringham Estate, after her husband called police claiming there had been a burglary.
The court heard that early post-mortem findings indicated blunt force injuries to the head and neck injuries consistent with compression. The couple’s three children and two visiting children were upstairs during a sleepover, and Cain was reported to have superficial wounds. The case was adjourned until 3 December for medical reports; a provisional trial date next June was discussed but not set.
