Rob Brydon returns to sitcom with Bill’s Included, a student house comedy
Rob Brydon has created and stars in Bill’s Included, a new six-part comedy about a newly separated landlord who takes in four university students. The character’s kindness and loneliness echo Brydon’s own screen persona, while the series also recalls Marion and Geoff, the sitcom that marked his breakthrough.
Brydon says he did not set out to revisit that earlier show, and that an initial version of the landlord idea made his character seem “creepy”. He discusses his long creative partnership with Steve Coogan, including The Trip, and says he has no desire to pursue Hollywood stardom or play villains.
