Indie Film Fund Archetype Media Finance Launches With Nicolas Cage & Lucy Hale Films Among First Projects
Archetype Media Finance, a new Los Angeles-based film financier, has launched with $150 million in capital commitments to support independent films. The venture plans to invest in films budgeted between $5 million and $25 million, aiming to offer producers a single financing partner in a market where funding can be fragmented.
Its first projects include Nicolas Cage’s $20 million post-apocalyptic thriller *Parish*, which has finished filming in Minnesota; Lucy Hale’s romantic comedy *Vision Board*, due to start filming in New York in January; and Sam Rockwell feature *The Smack*. Archetype expects to invest in up to 30 films over five years through debt, gap financing and equity, and says it will work with producers across the industry while operating independently of Concourse Media.
