Moshe Rosenthal's drama Tell Me Everything has won Best Picture at Israel's Ophir Awards, automatically making it the country's official submission for the Best International Feature category at the 2027 Oscars. The film, whose Hebrew title translates as Independence, dominated Thursday's ceremony, Israel's equivalent of the Academy Awards, taking home 10 trophies in total including Best Director and Best Screenplay for Rosenthal himself.

The story follows 12-year-old Boaz, who discovers his idolised father is gay against the backdrop of the emerging AIDS crisis in 1987 Israel, before the pair attempt to reconcile a decade later; it stars Yair Mazor, Assi Cohen and Ido Tako, among others. The film had gone into the awards with a record 16 nominations, premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and opened in Israeli cinemas on 1 September. Israel has received 10 Oscar nominations in the international feature category, most recently in 2011 for Footnote, but has never won; the 2027 shortlist of 15 films will be announced on 15 December, with nominations following on 21 January 2027.
