It’s Always Sunny returns on 17 August for season 18

Variety · 4 hours ago

FX has announced that Season 18 of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will premiere on 17 August 2026 at 9 p.m. ET on FX, FXX and Hulu, with Disney+ carrying it internationally. The return matters because the series is already the longest-running live-action comedy on television, and the new season extends that record while also increasing its episode count. The announcement signals continued confidence in one of FX’s most durable comedy franchises.

The new season will run for 10 episodes, up from eight in each of the previous three seasons. According to the official synopsis, the storylines will involve inheritance disputes, homelessness, automation-related job losses, conspiracy theories, social divisions and efforts to repair the gang’s public image by sponsoring a Little League team. FX also says viewers can expect celebrity cameos and references to Philadelphia traditions and classic sitcoms, with the main cast of Charlie Day, Rob Mac, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito returning.
