ITV has commissioned a new documentary, "Inside Iran: War & Revolution," which uses undercover footage and testimony from journalists and civilians to depict the 2025-2026 anti-regime protests and the subsequent conflict with the United States. Produced by UK-based studio Zandland, the film follows the broadcaster's earlier BAFTA-nominated project "Breaking Ranks: Inside Israel's Army" and offers rare, first-hand accounts from inside Iran's authoritarian regime, an environment where filming is extremely dangerous.

The documentary is narrated from the perspective of an anonymous Iranian journalist and includes footage of mass protests, hospital scenes of injured demonstrators facing arrest, and testimony on the US conflict, much of it filmed by ordinary citizens taking significant personal risks. Given the threat of punishment or execution, some contributors' identities and voices have been disguised. Directed by British-Iranian filmmaker Ben Zand, whose company Zandland is based in London and Liverpool, the film was commissioned by ITV's Controller of Current Affairs, Tom Giles. It premieres on ITV1 and ITVX on 9 August, with Maya Rostowska producing and Josh Reynolds and Zand serving as executive producers.
