The Nintendo Switch 2 has now sold over six million units in Japan, according to the latest Famitsu hardware charts, and is closing in on the original Switch Lite's lifetime total of just under seven million. The milestone underscores the console's strong momentum in its home market, with the Switch 2 again topping the weekly hardware rankings ahead of all PlayStation and Xbox models.

Switch 2 shifted a further 28,755 units in the week of 6th-12th July, bringing its running total to 6,026,931. On the software side, rhythm game Rhythm Heaven Groove held the top spot for a second week with 126,073 copies sold, pushing its total past half a million, while several new entries filled out the top ten, including debut charts for Magical Girl Witch Trials and both the Switch and Switch 2 versions of Digimon Story: Time Stranger. The PS5 Digital Edition outsold all three original Switch hardware variants combined, though standard PS5 and PS5 Pro figures remained comparatively low, and Xbox sales stayed minimal across all models.
