Jason Momoa Reflects on Getting Beat Up by Timothée Chalamet in Dune: Part 3
Jason Momoa says fighting Timothée Chalamet in *Dune: Part 3* meant working out how his character could lose to Paul Atreides, who is now vastly more powerful. Their characters were close in the first film but are strained in the new story, set 20 years later.
Momoa returns as a clone of Duncan Idaho, without the original’s memories or personality, and describes the role as unusually subtle and challenging. He and Chalamet said their fight was choreographed like a dance: Momoa is the stronger fighter in real life, while Chalamet is fast. The film is due in cinemas on 18 December 2026, with IMAX previews from 14 December.
