Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson has discussed how the band keeps its live shows fresh during its ongoing 50th-anniversary tour, which includes acoustic performances, orchestral gigs and occasional reunions with original vocalist Lou Gramm. Speaking to Bass Musician Magazine, Pilson credited the band's varied formats and enduring songwriting for sustaining audience engagement, insisting that "the rock star in Foreigner are the songs" rather than any individual band member.

Pilson also highlighted the group's growing appeal among younger listeners, noting that social media data shows a surprisingly young, predominantly female following alongside its long-standing older fanbase. He attributed this to the timelessness of songs written mainly by founding guitarist Mick Jones and Lou Gramm, and to the band's high-energy live performances, even though none of Foreigner's original members currently tour with the group.
