Jo Koy Sets Sixth Netflix Comedy Special ‘Blue In The Face’
Comedian Jo Koy has announced his sixth Netflix stand-up special, "Blue in the Face," which will premiere globally on 15 September. The special was filmed before a sold-out crowd at Stockton Arena in California, a location with personal significance for Koy given the city's strong Filipino American heritage.
In the hour-long set, Koy recounts a chaotic dental mishap, being sacked from a job at McDonald's, and pays tribute to his stepfather, a military veteran. The special fulfils a two-special Netflix deal signed in 2023, following "Jo Koy: Live from Brooklyn," which was 2024's seventh most-watched Netflix special with 6.9 million viewing hours. Shannon Hartman directed and executive produced alongside Koy, Michelle Caputo and Joe Meloche, with Art & Industry producing. Koy, consistently ranked among the world's top-grossing stand-up comedians, is currently on his "Koy Meets World Tour" and will also voice a role in DreamWorks/Universal's animated film "Forgotten Island," due out 25 September.
