Johnny Knoxville Joins ‘Mt. Mystic’ Comedy Series
Johnny Knoxville has joined the cast of Mt. Mystic, a mockumentary comedy series being developed from a YouTube pilot, and will also serve as executive producer. The casting comes shortly after the release of Jackass: Best and Last, billed as the final film in the Jackass franchise, and adds another high-profile name to a project already building notable momentum in the comedy space.
Knoxville, who also hosts Fox's Fear Factor: House of Fear (recently renewed for a second season), will play Lieutenant Gibbard, a socially awkward new park ranger boss adjusting after two decades of solitary Forest Service work. The six-part series, created by and starring Jeremiah Dunlap and Cory Quintard, follows a chaotic team of rangers at the fictional Mt. Mystic State Park and features a large supporting and guest cast including Joel Kim Booster, Michaela Watkins and Al Madrigal. It is produced by Amplify Pictures, with Stay Tuned co-financing, and production is set to begin this summer in Los Angeles.
