Jon Stewart Strikes Two-Year Deal To Remain As ‘The Daily Show’ Host Through 2028
Jon Stewart has signed a two-year deal to remain a host and executive producer of The Daily Show through 2028. The extension keeps the political comedy programme in place for another US general election and signals Skydance’s continued backing amid concerns it might be cancelled.
Stewart will continue hosting on Mondays, while Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta and Desi Lydic rotate across the other nights. He works alongside showrunner Jen Flanz and manager James Dixon as executive producers. The announcement follows Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery; Stewart’s former colleague John Oliver has a separate deal through the end of 2027.
