Justin Bieber has raised nearly $26,400 for charity after donating the trainers he wore during his FIFA World Cup final halftime performance to a Christie's auction. The singer performed an acoustic rendition of "Everything Hallelujah" at the inaugural World Cup halftime show, an appearance that drew mixed reactions online, but he turned the moment into a fundraising opportunity by putting the shoes up for sale afterwards.

The trainers, custom SKYLRK kicks from the brand's unreleased Matter Daddy line in a latte colourway, were sold through Christie's "One Goal" auction in aid of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a $100 million initiative supporting football and education access for children worldwide. Bids started between $2,000 and $4,000 but climbed to a final sale price of $26,400 by the time the auction closed on Wednesday. Bieber was joined by fellow halftime performers Shakira and BTS, who also donated items to the same cause; the star-studded show, produced by Global Citizen and curated with help from Coldplay's Chris Martin, also featured Madonna, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and the New York Philharmonic, and the Muppets.
