Kari Skogland To Direct Vigilante Crime Thriller ‘Vigilant’ From ‘Severance’ Star Ólafur Darri Ólafsson

Kari Skogland will direct *Vigilant*, a six-part Iceland-set crime thriller adapted for television by *Severance* actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson. The international co-production has been greenlit by Iceland’s ACT4, German broadcaster ZDF and ZDF Studios, with Icelandic broadcaster Síminn also involved.

Based on Skúli Sigurðsson’s novel *Big Brother*, the story follows a journalist investigating a vigilante’s violent campaign against sexual predators. As her reporting prompts national debate, she begins to question his motives and whether violence can be justified when the justice system fails. Production is due to begin in Iceland on 29 October; ZDF holds German rights, Síminn has local rights, and ZDF Studios will handle international sales.
