Jasmine Reed, an officer with the Knoxville Police Department, has been suspended after an internal investigation into a workplace love triangle uncovered flirtatious text messages between her and Police Chief Paul Noel. The inquiry, which began by examining Reed's affair with a married colleague, expanded to implicate the force's most senior officer, prompting his own suspension and raising questions about conduct standards at the top of the department.

The original investigation centred on Reed's affair with married Lieutenant Keith DeBow, which reportedly included sex on duty in a relief trailer and 37 recorded visits to a storage room totalling over eight hours, captured on surveillance footage. DeBow's wife, Captain Tammy DeBow, was also suspended for sending inappropriate messages to Reed after learning of the affair, while Keith DeBow retired before facing investigation. Separately, years of flirtatious texts emerged between Reed and Chief Noel, including an invitation to travel together, though investigators found no evidence of a physical relationship; Noel was suspended for a month. None of those involved face criminal charges, though Reed has also been found to have mishandled evidence on around 20 occasions.
