Charley Hull will begin her latest bid for a first major title at the 50th Women's Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Anne's, teeing off on Thursday alongside Brooke Henderson and Hannah Green. The 30-year-old Englishwoman has finished runner-up in five majors, most recently at June's US Open, and the tournament also features world number one Nelly Korda and South Korea's Ryu Haeran, both chasing a rare third major of the calendar year.

Korda and Ryu, who have each already won two majors in 2026, would join an exclusive group of only five women to claim three majors in a single year should they triumph. They play alongside New Zealand's Lydia Ko, the 2024 champion, in the group starting at 08:42 BST on Thursday. Also in the field is England's Georgia Hall, who won the title at the same course in 2018 and is only recently back on tour following the birth of her first child; she tees off at 12:42 alongside 2019 champion Hinako Shibuno, while fellow Englishwoman Lottie Woad starts at 08:31.
