Lex Walton Is A Facebook Marketplace Addict
Musician and actor Lex Walton combines a growing music career with a fondness for secondhand equipment found on Facebook Marketplace. A visit to pick up a broken fuzz-wah pedal offers a glimpse into how those “trash finds” feed the DIY power-pop artist’s creative process.
Walton says she has recorded 35 to 40 demos for her next album using secondhand gear. In conversation with musician Rachel Brown, she discusses record labels, being online, learning to play music and equipment; they also mention Velvet Underground drummer Moe Tucker’s recent Facebook posts. Walton’s Sub Pop debut, *ULTIMATE LOVE FOREVER*, is due for physical release later this month.
