Andy Biggs won Arizona’s Republican primary for governor, defeating fellow congressman David Schweikert and securing a November contest against Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs. The result sets up a closely watched race in a politically competitive state, where Hobbs is seeking a second term.

Biggs received about 73.5% of the vote, compared with roughly 14.8% for Schweikert; Ken Miceli and Scott Neely were also candidates. Hobbs faced no Democratic primary opponent, while Biggs entered the general election with the backing of President Donald Trump and a record as a prominent conservative congressman.
