Explained simply

LL Cool J is an American rapper and actor whose career began in the 1980s, when hip-hop was gaining a wider audience. He is known for songs including “I Need Love” and “Mama Said Knock You Out”, and has also hosted the music programme Rock the Bells.

A Las Vegas residency is a run of shows at the same venue, rather than a tour moving between cities. These performances are planned for Dolby Live, a concert venue at the Park MGM hotel, and are framed around hip-hop’s influence on later generations and other styles of music.
