LO:TECH raises $12 million to expand crypto trading into U.S. and Asia
Developed over time first seen 13 hours ago
London-based crypto market maker LO:TECH has raised $12 million in a Series A round led by MMC. Existing investors Faction and 13 Books Capital joined the round, alongside Atka. The company says it will use the money to expand into the United States and Asia-Pacific, including New York and Singapore, and to grow its execution services for institutional clients. It says it serves more than 50 institutional clients across market making, market data and execution.
LO:TECH aims to provide liquidity and execution across digital assets and tokenised traditional assets. Its announcement described execution services across traditional, digital and prediction markets as launching on 2 November, but the company told CoinDesk that activity going live then fell within its existing proprietary trading and digital-asset liquidity work. It said it would seek regulatory approval before offering regulated services; US licensing options remain under consideration. Its interest in round-the-clock tokenised stock trading comes as World Federation of Exchanges research finds that traditional share markets still provide the main source of price discovery for the tokenised equities it studied.
