Madonna has released “Danceteria Afterhours”, a remix of her Confessions II track featuring Charli xcx. The collaboration brings together two generations of pop artists, with both reflecting on their careers, club culture and musical identities.

Charli references her beginnings and her 2015 career shift involving A.G. Cook and SOPHIE, before joining Madonna for the final chorus. The release coincides with Madonna’s return to the MTV VMAs after 23 years, where she has 11 nominations; it follows Kylie Minogue’s remix of “Love Sensation” from the same album.
