Police in Cheshire are investigating after a 78-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman were found dead at a house in Wilmslow, sparking concern in the local community. Officers were called to the property on Grange Park Avenue on Saturday following worries about the welfare of those living there, and while the deaths remain under investigation, Cheshire Constabulary has said there is no indication of third-party involvement.

Detective Inspector Robert Lees said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and sought to reassure residents that a thorough investigation was under way, adding that thoughts remained with the couple's family and loved ones. A local business owner described the pair as a couple who had lived on the street for a long time but largely kept to themselves, and said he did not know their names. Cheshire Constabulary said its inquiries were continuing, and the Daily Mail has approached the force for further comment.
