Manor Lords’ next beta update adds what all video games are sorely missing: cow breeding

Rock Paper Shotgun · 4 hours ago

Manor Lords, the medieval city-building game, is set to receive a new beta update by the end of July 2026 that introduces cattle breeding, allowing players to expand their herds by breeding cows rather than only importing them. The addition is part of a broader package of farming and construction changes aimed at deepening the game's economic simulation, reflecting ongoing efforts by developer Slavic Magic to flesh out livestock and production systems in the city-builder.

Alongside breeding, players will be able to import cattle, collect milk via pastures staffed by renamed "livestock farm workers," and slaughter animals for beef, with a new cheesemonger artisan role also added. Pastures will now require plans and scale in construction cost with size, while buildings are split into "basic" and "advanced" categories, the latter requiring skilled builders hired at a new construction yard. The update also adds oats as a growable crop for food or animal feed, seasonal work assignments, and a new map called Wide Valley featuring rivers.

  • Manor Lords' next beta update adds cattle breeding by end of July.
  • New pastures, cheesemonger role, and oats crop for animal feed.
  • Buildings split into basic/advanced tiers; new Wide Valley map added.
