The White House marked Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s 55th birthday by giving him a gold-framed collage built around the viral “Rubio realising” meme. The gift playfully reflects the online joke that Rubio appears to hold an unusually large number of roles in President Donald Trump’s administration.

The collage contains 68 panels showing altered versions of a photograph of Rubio sitting slumped on an Oval Office sofa, alongside the original image in the centre. The edited images depict him in a range of imagined roles and settings, including as an Iranian ayatollah and an astronaut.
