Marvel’s Wolverine hype new trailer is overshadowed by drama

Polygon · 4 hours ago

Insomniac Games has released a new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine during San Diego Comic-Con, showcasing its violent action, X-Men characters and Logan’s fragmented memories ahead of its September launch. However, discussion around the trailer has been overshadowed by online anger at Sony’s reported plan to stop using physical PlayStation 5 discs in 2028, as well as criticism of Wolverine’s character model.

The footage features Jean Grey, Leech, Lady Deathstrike, Sabretooth and Omega Red, including a scene in which Logan’s flesh is stripped from his adamantium skeleton. A prequel comic and Comic-Con panel have added story material despite earlier leaks, while Insomniac says the PS5-exclusive game will depict Wolverine as an unreliable narrator with a compassionate side alongside its graphic violence.

  • New Wolverine trailer highlights brutal X-Men action.
  • Sony physical-disc controversy dominates online reaction.
  • PS5 exclusive launches on 15 September.
