Mass Effect Universe “looked incredible” says creator who claims he advised BioWare

Eurogamer ·

A creator who says he advised BioWare has shared unverified details about Mass Effect Universe, a cancelled game set more than 600 years after the Reaper War. His account describes a galactic power struggle rather than another Reaper invasion, offering a glimpse of what the lost project might have been.

Dantics says players would have controlled a customisable N7 agent with experimental abilities, tackling handcrafted missions with freedom in how to complete them. He also claims the game featured three rival factions, returning squadmate Liara as an Asari Matriarch, and a story that preserved Shepard’s legacy across different endings. BioWare and EA have not confirmed the claims, and his council role has not been independently verified.

In short

  • A cancelled Mass Effect game was reportedly set 600-plus years after the Reaper War.
  • Its story centred on a galactic Cold War between three factions.
  • The creator’s account remains unverified.
