Melissa Joan Hart to Play “The Black Widow” Serial Killer Judy Buenoano in Lifetime Movie (Exclusive)
Melissa Joan Hart will portray convicted serial killer Judy Buenoano in Lifetime’s upcoming true-crime film, *Black Widow Killer: The Judy Buenoano Story*, and will also executive produce it. The casting marks a darker role for Hart, best known for *Sabrina the Teenage Witch*, and the film joins Lifetime’s winter “Ripped From the Headlines” slate.
Set in 1970s and 1980s Florida, the story follows Buenoano, a salon owner and mother whose fiancé survives a car bombing, prompting detectives to investigate deaths among people close to her. Chris Bauer plays Detective Chamberlain and Matthew Settle plays fiancé John Gentry; Agam Darshi directs from a script by Taylor Martin. The film is scheduled to premiere on Lifetime on 23 January 2027 at 8pm.
