The legendary Danish heavy metal band Mercyful Fate has confirmed a return to the stage after a prolonged absence, with their next performance scheduled for Spain's Leyendas Del Rock festival in August 2027. The announcement comes over two years after their most recent appearance at Brazil's Summer Breeze festival in April 2024, marking a significant gap in the band's touring calendar.

The group's current membership includes founder and vocalist King Diamond alongside guitarists Hank Shermann and Mike Wead, drummer Bjarne T. Holm, and bassist Becky Baldwin, who joined officially in January 2024. Alongside preparing for the Spanish festival, the band continues work on new material, having previously teased original songs including 'The Jackal Of Salzburg' during performances in 2022.
