METALLICA’s JAMES HETFIELD Helps EMG Celebrate 50th Anniversary With Limited-Edition Signature Set Release
James Hetfield is marking EMG’s 50th anniversary with a limited-edition version of his signature pickup set, featuring an anniversary logo he designed. The release celebrates his long association with the company and offers a revised take on the pickups used in his signature set.
Only 200 sets will be made. The JH-N neck pickup has individual ceramic poles and a larger, taller core, designed for more attack, higher output and fuller bass; the JH-B bridge pickup uses steel poles for a tight attack and cleaner low end. EMG says the sets are built to order, with estimated shipping in 7 to 14 business days, and limited quantities are due to be available direct from the company on 13 November 2026.
