Mia Threapleton, Danny Huston Join Guy Pearce, Jared Harris & Merab Ninidze In ‘The Price Of Peace’ As Filming Begins in London

Deadline · 4 weeks ago

Filming has begun in London on The Price of Peace, a political thriller written by Anthony McCarten dramatising the 1945 Potsdam Conference, at which Harry S. Truman, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin negotiated the shape of post-war Europe. Guy Pearce, Jared Harris and Merab Ninidze play the three leaders respectively, and the production is notable for reuniting a starry ensemble cast around a pivotal moment in 20th-century history that McCarten, known for Darkest Hour and The Two Popes, describes as the turning point between the Second World War and the Cold War.

Mia Threapleton has joined as Churchill's daughter Mary Churchill, alongside Danny Huston as General Groves, the US Army officer who oversaw the Manhattan Project. The film is produced by Raccoon Features, Muse of Fire Productions and Salloway Studios, with SND handling international sales after strong buyer interest at this year's European Film Market in Berlin. The crew includes cinematographer Henry Braham, production designer James Merifield and composer Harry Gregson-Williams, several of whom previously worked on films including Superman and Nosferatu.
