Microsoft has delayed the question-detection and answering feature planned for its Teams Facilitator AI assistant. The tool, which can join meetings, follow agendas and take notes, is intended to offer answers when it detects an unanswered question or knowledge gap; the delay matters because it suggests the feature remains difficult to make reliable in live conversations.

Microsoft originally expected to launch the capability in June, before moving the target through July, August and September. It is now due for targeted release in November and worldwide availability in mid-December, although Microsoft has not explained the reason; possible issues include identifying genuine conversational gaps and producing contextually appropriate answers. The feature processes meeting speech in real time, requires Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium, and can be stopped by removing Facilitator from the meeting; it will not return answers if Copilot web search is disabled.
