Mike Vrabel snaps at reporter over Drake Maye’s struggles after Pats win: ‘you’re not going to ruin my Sunday’
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel reacted sharply when reporters questioned Drake Maye’s early-season struggles after the team beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-3. Vrabel said the questions would not “ruin” his Sunday, but Maye’s inconsistent performances remain significant because he was instrumental in the Patriots’ strong 2025 campaign.
Maye completed 14 of 22 passes for 208 yards, no touchdowns and one interception, while New England scored only 13 offensive points. The defence restricted Pittsburgh to three points and 235 total yards, while TreVeyon Henderson and Elijah Ponder scored touchdowns. Maye has now thrown four interceptions and one touchdown through two games, following three interceptions in the season-opening defeat by Seattle.
