Spring Lake Park mayoral tie could be decided by drawing a name by lot
Robert Nelson and Halyn Roth are tied in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota’s mayoral race, with 1,401 votes each in unofficial results. The tie may be settled by drawing a name by lot, a procedure set out in state law, making the official canvass especially significant.

The city council plans to present the results at a public meeting on 9 November, and eligible candidates can request a recount by 5pm on 16 November. If one proceeds, it is scheduled for 17 November.
In short
