Modern Warfare 4 beta’s first update is live, adding a new map, mode, and toned-down footsteps
Infinity Ward has released the first major update for the Modern Warfare 4 beta after responding to feedback from its opening day. The patch reduces the volume and audible range of enemy footsteps and gear, adjusts weapon lethality, and enables map voting, aiming to improve the multiplayer experience during the test.
The update adds the Cachette map and Inflation mode, in which players collect cash from eliminated enemies and high-value targets before the richest become targets themselves. The ISO Nightshade SMG and Oris 8.6 marksman rifle have had damage ranges and headshot multipliers reduced, while Transit 213 has received visibility improvements; unresolved issues include disabled join-in-progress on Kill Block and FPS drops when cooking some lethal equipment.
- Footsteps are quieter and less audible at range.
- Two weapons have received lethality reductions.
- Cachette, Inflation and map voting are now available.
