Modern Warfare 4 – Minimum and Recommended PC specs
Developing story first seen 2 hours ago
Activision has released the Minimum and Recommended PC specifications for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta, confirming that the shooter will not require top-tier hardware to run. This is notable given the game's premium positioning and the currently high cost of PC components, meaning a broad range of existing systems should be able to run the beta without upgrades.
The minimum setup requires Windows 10, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i5-8400 processor, 12GB of RAM, an SSD, and a graphics card such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970/1060, AMD Radeon RX 470 or Intel Arc A580. The recommended configuration steps up to Windows 11, a Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700 CPU, 16GB RAM, and stronger GPUs including the RTX 3060 Ti, Radeon RX 6700 XT or Intel Arc B580. Activision has also confirmed that TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot must be enabled for PC players to access the beta online, as these features underpin the RICOCHET anti-cheat system; the full game is due for release on 23 October.

Modern Warfare 4 is the next instalment in Activision's long-running Call of Duty franchise, due out on 23 October. Ahead of a public beta test, Activision has published the technical requirements PC players will need to run the game, which cover both a minimum standard for it to work and a recommended standard for smoother performance.
These requirements matter because PC hardware, particularly graphics cards, has become expensive in recent years, and Call of Duty games are sold at a premium price alongside optional in-game purchases. How demanding a big-budget release is on ageing or modest computers can affect how many players are able to take part without paying for new equipment. The specifications also reveal that players will need certain security features enabled on their PC, tied to the game's system for detecting cheats.
