Moment six Brits are arrested after record £65million cocaine stash is found in Brazilian warehouse
Six British men were arrested in Brazil after police found 4,426kg of cocaine in a warehouse, in the largest single seizure in the state of Santa Catarina’s history. The scale of the haul, which authorities said could be worth more than £65 million in the UK, highlights the suspected international reach of the operation.
Police said a month-long investigation tracked suspicious use of a van and two hired cars, with drone footage linking the vehicles to the warehouse. Officers stopped the van and found about 5kg of cocaine inside, then searched the building and found the main shipment concealed beneath rubber materials; bleach was also present, which investigators suspected could mask the drugs’ smell. The six men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, and authorities said they had not established whether the seizure was Brazil’s largest in a single operation.
