Hull rabbit Peter found after men filmed taking him from garden
Two unidentified men were filmed taking Peter, a nine-year-old pet rabbit, from a family’s garden in Hull. The footage showed one man holding Peter by the ears for more than 20 seconds while the other filmed; the incident left the family distressed and raised concern because the rabbit needs regular medication.
Owner Amy Grace had been away shopping when the incident happened at about 5.18pm on 17 October. After hours of searching, the family feared Peter was dead, but he was found dumped in a car park and returned home. Grace said she planned to take him to the vet, and Humberside Police had been approached for comment.

Pet rabbits are often kept in secure garden areas, where they need protection from predators and enough space to move around. Older rabbits may also need regular medicine or veterinary care.
Taking someone’s pet without permission can cause distress and put the animal’s health at risk. If a rabbit is handled roughly or left somewhere unfamiliar, it may be injured, frightened or unable to get the care it needs.
