Open-source Chrome tool flags low-value LinkedIn posts using AI
A free, open-source Chrome extension called Slop Mop uses the Jev AI model to identify and flag low-value posts in LinkedIn feeds. Its creator, Tom Frazier, says it is intended to filter poor writing regardless of whether it was produced by AI or humans, addressing growing concerns about generic and manipulative LinkedIn content.
The extension assesses posts against nine warning signs, including hype, engagement bait, empty praise, flowery language and overly tidy lessons. It also considers whether the writing sounds distinctive or offers useful information, while AI authorship alone cannot trigger a flag; posts are hidden or marked rather than deleted, and each installation is limited to 250 analyses per day to control API costs.
