More goals for Lankshear, home woes for Hammers – Aaron McLean’s EFL Takeaways
Middlesbrough moved two points clear at the top of the Championship after beating Charlton 3-0, with Will Lankshear scoring twice. Aaron McLean says the striker’s strong form supports the club’s £20m investment, though he believes an England call-up would be premature.
McLean also highlighted West Ham’s home struggles after their 3-1 defeat by West Brom, their third home loss of the season, and praised Southampton’s revival after a 4-1 win over QPR. Southampton sit fifth and have lost only two of their past 34 Championship matches; McLean said they would be second without their four-point deduction.
In short
- Lankshear has 13 goals in 13 league games for Middlesbrough.
- West Ham have lost all three of their Championship matches at home.
- Southampton are fifth and have lost only twice in 34 league games.
