The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

The Bear has wrapped up its full run after five completed seasons, though its fourth season is only now up for Emmy consideration, since the FX comedy-drama always trails the awards cycle by a year. The show remains classified as a comedy by the Television Academy and will compete against Abbott Elementary, Hacks, Nobody Wants This and others at the ceremony on 14 September, with nominations for Ayo Edebiri as lead actress, guest nods for Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner, and a directing nomination for creator Christopher Storer.

To mark the milestone, Hollywood Reporter compiled a set of production trivia from season four, including that more than 50 dishes were created for the season and the wedding episode featured ten real cakes plus hundreds of cupcakes and pastries. The piece also revisits the show's awards history: it became the first comedy to win ten or more Emmys in a single season in 2024, a record later broken by The Studio with 13 wins, while Liza Colón-Zayas made history as the first Latina to win the supporting actress comedy Emmy.

  • The Bear's fifth season has concluded; season four still contends at the Emmys.
  • Season four earned nominations for Edebiri, Storer, Curtis and Reiner.
